Perth Farmstay at Margaret River
Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 11:09 AM UTC
Hi,

We are a family of 6 (5 adults and 1 child) who are traveling to Perth in June. Planning to do a farmstay in Margaret River but is caught in a difficult situation on which farm to choose!! We currently are struggling between these 2 options and would glad if somebody can give some advice:

Sunflowers Animal Farm: Have lots of animals,so will be great for the kid but the room as shown on the website doesn't look fantastic

Margaret River Hideway: Rooms shown in website look very comfy with very nice outdoor view.

I've never heard of those farmstays so i cant tell you what they are like, but i have been to Taunton Farm...its a nice caravan park/farmstay on bussell hwy.

google Taunton Farm and their website should come up. Its also right next to the Margaret River Dairy Company!!

Hi, We drove past the Sunflower's animal farm last Sunday & were amazed how busy & packed their car park was. It was the last day of the school holidays & a long weekend. We did notice the farm is open to the public 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm so I wouldn't think it would be all that peaceful, if you were staying there.
I do like the look of the Margaret River Hideaway website. I've just found Redgate farmstay (/www.redgatefarmstay.com.au/)& they have a large 3 bed 2 bath cottage to sleep 8 , plus smaller cottages. They look very luxurious & seem to be very well equipped so you wouldn't have to rush back into town to buy stuff. Margaret River is a very special part of WA & I hope you love it as much as we do!!! Enjoy Sandra
