Hi
Try the Comfort Inn by the Bay on Van Ness Avenue. Medium priced/budget hotel. Good location and great views. Check the reviews on www.tripadvisor.com Have fun planning your trip. Jeannette

Oh, unless someone who has stayed in such a place responds, you may need to check the map or the hotel description. When my son was at USF the school rented rooms at the Lone Mountain campus which did have a view of the GG bridge - but the no longer rent them. It was good to make the distinction on which bridge, because some hotels downtown have a view of the Bay bridge.
I did a quick search and ran into the following: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2733667-gold While it does not help much with your request, I noticed this map shows *exactly* what I was talking about for the drive thru the city ... see Stanyan between the two sides of GG park? Then as far as Presidio, if you catch Masonic (off Fulton) - it *will* take you into the park via Presidio (California street crosses Presidio, but it may be easier to catch it off masonic). Then see how Lombard comes out of the park. Everything right there ... so you can "map" it in a better map. All the best finding the hotel!

The Mandarian Oriental actually has a room they call
Bridge to Bridge that has views of both bridges.

They grin from ear to ear when they show you the room.

So I stayed at the Comfort Inn by the Bay on Van Ness Avenue. ( thanks Jeanette) It was perfect. Good view. Good breakfast. we stayed on the 9th floor. the view of the alcatraz is blocked by two buildings but it was still great.
Thanks everybody
