Does any one know if you can catch a taxi from the main road ( 307 )to Puerto Morelas?

You should be able to just flag one down, sometimes the buses will stop to. The bus is cheap,there's a bus stop downtown and you can also catch them at the airport.

Plenty of taxis between the highway and Puerto Morelos.
You have a gas station on south-west corner, and the bus (highway bus) ticket office on south-east corner. If you don't see any taxis, just ask for help. Also, the road is very short, (you can see the other end) if you don't have too much luggage, just start walking and catch a ride. There is also a comute bus (collectivo or something like that). It looks like large mini-bus and you just hop on it and pay few pessos. See my Puerto MOrelos page for more tips!

Taxis, yes. But the collectivos are cheaper.
