Hi, in August I shall be visiting Garda. Does anyone know whether taxis are expensive there? Is there any site where I can see taxi fares?

there is no "regular" taxi service in the little towns around garda lake.

A similar service is given by little "rent with driver" companies.

No idea of the prices: you usually "book" them, so you can always fix the price before going. During the day the bus service (www.aptv.it) is quite good.

Hi! Why do you need a taxi especially? The best ways to get around Lake Garda area are by the 'steamer ferries' that criss- cross the lake, or there is a regular bus service that follows the road around the lake. There are taxis though, plus hire cars.The towns/ villages aren't too big.

If you need a taxi to get from your hotel/ restaurant etc I'm sure that your hotel reception/ restaurant will be pleased to arrange this for you.

Thanks for your replies. I would need a taxi for the night, since buses stop a bit early
