Planning a trip to Venice this late summer. Looking forward to seeing the sights and tasting the food. Are there sporting clubs where one can play tennis on the european clay courts? Will they let a tourist play and around how much do they charge?

Thanks so much for any info.

To the best of my knowledge there are only two clay courts and both are in private hands. The first is at the Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca. The other is at the Hotel San Clemente Palace on Isola San Clemente. There may be courts on Lido but I am not aware of any.
I think you have to be a guest of the above hotels to play, but if you go to the
websites, you could contact them and ask.
You may also find some oourts on the mainland in Mestre, but, again, I don't have any knowledge of them.
