Would appreciate suggestions on reasonably priced accommodation near Narita airport for one night while in transit or in Tokyo that is easy to get to from the airport. Arrive 8pm and dep 3pm following day. Thanks John

Hi John
I recommend Toyoko Inn Narita Air port where near the airport and down town Narita0city where you can feel Japanese culture. Web-site of hotel is http://www.toyoko-inn.com/e_hotel/00037/index.html Some information for Narika, refer to my page http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/a897f/ed6c3/ Masa

I would highly recommend International Garden Hotel, very near Narita and we just stayed there last April 12 coming fro ma long 14 hr flight from Sydney via Seoul. It had complementary airport transfer so very convenient for ya!
The breakfast buffet is highly recommended too and the rooms are clean and very adequate!Good value too. We booked it thru expedia but you can enquire at info@garden-narita.com

Look here for hotels near Narita airport: http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/travel/hotel/index.html
I stayed in Center Hotel in Narita town, it's next to the station, only 10 minutes from the airport. It's a standard reasonably priced business hotel. Narita town is good place to stay for a day, many restaurants and there's a nice temple if you want to do some sightseeing.

I would suggest to take advantage of your lay over by staying in a traditional Japanese hotel, called a Ryokan. Your breakfast and dinner are included and the experience is all about soaking in the hotspring baths, necessary after a long flight. Narita townsite has quite a few within a short taxi trip from the airport so you don't need to worry about figuring out how the trains work.
