the Bahn site is usually pretty good:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e or try the man in seat 61

I think the Bahn site mat use the German spelling Lvov? I would advise the train over the bus in the Ukraine (unless the roads are better these days?)

www.polrail.com will give you train times and fares. The bahn.de site will not give you fares.
As Maxus suggested, you have probably not been using the right spelling for the search engine.

The polrail site timetable link doesn't seem to be working, so you may have to use the Polish version
http://www.pkp.com.pl/ Put in 'Krakow' and 'Lvov' and you'll get times.

for may be 3128 time:
3128 DO NOT SEARCH POLISH TRAIN TIME TABLE USING GERMAN/FRANCH/INDONESIAN/BRAZILIAN SITE. DO IT ON POLISH SITE !!! 3129 DO NOT SEARCH POLISH TRAIN TIME TABLE USING GERMAN/FRANCH/INDONESIAN/BRAZILIAN SITE. DO IT ON POLISH SITE !!! 3130 DO NOT SEARCH POLISH TRAIN TIME TABLE USING GERMAN/FRANCH/INDONESIAN/BRAZILIAN SITE. DO IT ON POLISH SITE !!! 3131 DO NOT SEARCH POLISH TRAIN TIME TABLE USING GERMAN/FRANCH/INDONESIAN/BRAZILIAN SITE. DO IT ON POLISH SITE !!! 3132 DO NOT SEARCH POLISH TRAIN TIME TABLE USING GERMAN/FRANCH/INDONESIAN/BRAZILIAN SITE. DO IT ON POLISH SITE !!! Polish route planner and time table in English: http://rozklad.pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en? Krakow - as "from" station - should be 'Krakow Glowny' (means krakow main). You will get most - but not all - options. www.polrail.pl works just fine. If you choose the "European railway Time Table" you will be diverted to the same link of pkp in English: http://rozklad.pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en? Another good source for Polish trains info is, in English: http://www.intercity.pl/?page=strona_glowna&changelang=EN of the company that operates the better and faster type of trains in Poland including to some of surrounding countries . To your question: 1. According to the Polish Railroad company (PKP site) there is no direct night train from Krakow to Lvov / Lviv / Lwow / Lemberg or any other name it was named during last 1000 years. The only direct train is TLK7310 from Krakow depart 13:19 and gets to Lvov 23:46 (midnight). With all other trains you'll have to change trains. If you want to save the hotel cost, the night train is P33011 one depart Krakow 21:28 and goes to przemysl (pronounced: pshemishl) at 00:50, then you catch the P35 train from przemysl 01:17 heading Kiev, and say "good morning" in Lvov at 04:48. 2. According to intercity, the company that operates the train: http://www.intercity.pl/?page=strona_glowna&changelang=EN the train P35 mentioned above also named "Josef Chelmonski" actually starts its journey from Krakow, depart Krakow 21:28. See it here: http://www.intercity.pl/?page=timetable&ph_cen But on the same page I can see remark: As up to 23-24 May 2008 to przemysl it will operate as common/general train, passengers will have to change places to sleepr's cars in przemysl. As the "search" option on this site returns "no connection" when looking for direct train, I conclude that : 1. the intercity company reduced scope of service and nowadays offers sleeper's cars of good standard from przemysl only. the way they put it on their site is more then just "confusing". 2. from Krakow to przemysl by standard polish train, chairs/seats. For more precise information about this confusion regarding train P35 I suggest you write to intercity people by e-mail address you can find on their site.

Just on the subject of spelling, in Polish it's spelt Lwow or, to use the correct accents, Lwów.
