hi i am wanting to get from puorto del carmen to the teguise market on a sunday what is the best way of getting there without having a car and how long does it take thanks Tim

Hi Tim, I think your best bet will be the bus or as they are called in Lanzarote Guagua. Here is the time table, you will see the Puerto del Carmen to Teguise ( Sunday only ) halfway down the page. Not sure how long it takes maybe around 35 minutes. You need to get there very early.

Personally I did not like the market, it was very touristic with a lot of crap. We were told it was a kind of authentic market. Maybe a good place to get some presents for at home though. We went there with a organized tour, brought to our attention by our travel agency, and we did this because we had to check out that day and it was convenient. Might as well have taken an ordinary bus as indicated above, that would have been a lot cheaper...

You're right, it is touristy and one visit is enough, but I went round Teguise which is the old Capitol of Lanzarote, thats worth a visit. Just be careful of pickpockets.

Hi Tim, the local bus will be cheapest but a taxi if there are 3 or 4 of you will be the quickest and most convenient option 15-18 euros each way approx
