| Tokyo | Question about Ikebukuro Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 06:04 PM UTC
Hi. I heard there are two giant malls - seibu and tobu - and that theres tons of stores. There is this basement that sells all sorts of foodstuffs. Any idea when this basement closes, or when most of the stores close in the mall itself?
Also, where is this Sunshine City? When do the aquariums, museums etc close? |

Ikebukuro station is on the left hand 1/3 of the map, Sunshine City is on the right 1/3.

The right 1/3 is pretty big. Anything specific I can look for? And do you know what are the hours of those places? Thanks again!

Most Japanese department stores have a basement food court. Seibu and Tobu are owned by private railroad companies and are therefore attached to JR's ikebukuro station. sunshine city is a few short blocks east of the station with great shopping along the way. a good map and plenty of Ikebukuro info is here.
