| Caribbean and Central America | 2-week program in Costa Rica and then what? Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 05:30 PM UTC
Hi all-
I'll be attending a 2-week cultural immersion program for social workers in Costa Rica from July 26-August 9 and am figuring out what to do after that other than coming straight back home to the States. I'll basically have until August 31. No strict budget yet, will work on that after hearing some advice. How is it travelling between Costa Rica and other central american countries in terms of safety and cost? What's the best mode of travel? I'm especially looking at Belize and Guatemala but I've heard some horror stories (though not anything that couldn't happen anywhere else). I'm female in my early 20s most likely traveling alone with little to nothing more than a backpack. Also, where could I look for inexpensive yet safe lodging? Any advice and experiences are more than welcome! |
