Ko Samui Chaweng Bay View Resort
Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 03:48 PM UTC
Hi, I'm visiting Koh samui with 7 other ppl. Looking out for a 4 bed room bungalow/house. Came across Chaweng Bay view Resort,

What is your opinion on this resort?
Is there any other locations where we can get a house with 4 rooms?
Also is CBVR in a nice location - convenient to the nightlife and restaurants?

This resort is ok.I don`t know of too many resorts that offer what you are after.

CBVR is at the northern part of Chaweng & as the name suggest it overlooks the surrounding waters & islands & for that it`s excellant but it also means there are some steep hills & inclines to navigate.CBVR isn`t near the nightlife at least in the fact that it`s not within walking distance but the resort offer a sevice into Chaweng but you`d need to check how often & how late it runs.Chaweng & other parts of the island are easily accessible by songtaew or the Maroon & yellow bandits (taxis)so getting around won`t be too much of a problem.

Hope this helps

Go through the hotels featured on "sawadee .com", I have been looking and booking acc for our May/June trip and have come across quite a few family beach front bungalows that hold more than 3,not sure if its for 2 adults + children though?
have a look at the "Red House" in Bophut not want you want but looks fun for $64 AU per night per room and you could book all their 4 rooms for a few nights if you are all adults.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your insight, just a few more questions :

1) How far is the walk (in time and km) to the beach and main night spot?
2) Is the facilities and rooms at CVBR nice and as it seems in their website?
3) Since its a group of 8 of us, how difficult would it be to get the local transportation to move around, especially at wee hours of the morning?

Since CBVR is located on the hillside, you probably have to cross the road to access the beach.

As for transportation for 8 people in the wee morning hours, don't worry. The local Songteow hangs around all the night places and waits for customers like you to take you home.

we have just spent weeks looking over all the hotel options in Ko Samui (Chaweng mainly) and although the CBVH looks really nice i have also heard its a bit far from nightlife and up a hill. hotel does a bus service during the daytime only.
Good place to look for a lowdown on lots of hotels is tripadvisor. they have loads of useful reviews and photos.
Happy hols!!!!
