Budapest Airport transfer for 5 people: minivan, or 2 taxies?
Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 10:45 AM UTC
Hi!
We are 5 girls travelling to Budapest. It seems to be difficult to get all 5 into one taxi, therefore I wonder: what is the best option we could choose?
2 taxies (which companies then? I ve read it is wise to book in advance) or a
minibus?
I also found this company on line: http://www.budshuttle.com/ Hav eanybody used them before? They are charging 9000 HUF one way for a minivan. Is it ok price or we still get it cheaper taking 2 taxies?

See the post just before yours. I think that the Budapesttransfer.com can accommodate you. I also think some of the taxi companies can accommodate you if you call.

There are more company, but the cheapest one is "Zóna taxi"( http://www.zonataxi.eu/en/tartalom/fooldal/ ), - winner of the Airport taxi tender - , delivers the passengers from airport terminal to the city centre with an MPV minivan for HUF 5.500.- . But you should order it online beforehand and can pay only in cash, in Forints for the transport at the moment. To change money is possible at the Airport, if it is necessary.
Greetings L.

The various taxi companies are: (i generally use Taxi 2000 - but only because i can remember the number) But once in town, the subway and the trams will get you any place you need to go -- cheaply, cleanly, and with some fun. Get a two or three day card and just get on and off where you need to.

Hello!

If you are lucky there are some taxis with space for 5 people as well. But, I must admit that girls often bring lots of luggage, so it might be hard still to get five girls with to much luggage into a big cab... But, it could be possible (I have done it once and it worked out somehow).

If not, two cabs or budapest shuttle is probably quite the same. But, two taxies can be easy as well, just go out and travel on. No booking beforehand, just withdraw some cash from the ATM at the airport so you have hungarian forints!

Take care!

That is correct, on the site of the fleet park there is no minivan, but among the extras it can be found. (http://www.zonataxi.eu/en/tartalom/varosrepter).
I have called up them, and I was told, the MPV is a new service. The prefix you should put on for Budapest is +361.

Actually, with five of you and five times typical female luggage (sorry, cheap shot) I really would go to Budapesttransfer.com. THey will have a van waiting for you, help you with the bags and make that part of your trip a little easier. And NO, i dont get refereal fees. I just have my favorites that havent let me down yet. The five of you should get a box at the theater too.
