hello,
We will be in athens in early june and staying at the Pan hotel at 11 Mitropoleos ,athens 10557.What is the best transportation way from the Airport to this hotel .

The airport express bus E95 stops next to Syntagma Square on Othonos Street. Across the main intersection just down from the bus stop Othonos changes names to Mitropoleos Street. The Pan Hotel is a 3-minute walk from the bus stop at #11 Mitropoleos if you walk slowly. The Metro stops at Syntagma Square so you can take either one, it really doesn't matter. If you choose the Metro Othonos Street will be on your left as you walk out the main door with the square in front of you. The bus costs 3.2 euro and can take over an hour if traffic is heavy. The Metro costs 6 euro and takes 45 minutes.

Since the OP is coming in Early june, the Metro is not an option, since it has been announced that after May 30 there will be disruption of the Blue Line Metro extension to the Airport (for building of new station). Therefore, the bus @ 3.2 Euros is the choice. Leaves every 20 mins or so from Gate 5 area of Arrivals level. Not a bad ride; bus is a special kind, big areas for luggage.

we are arriving on May 30....will the metro be operating on that day?

The most current information states that the Airport Metro line won't be shut down until July 1. Your guess is as good as anyone's whether or not that is an accurate date.
