| Vatican City | Vatican Garden's Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 05:48 PM UTC
From what I've read you need to have a reservation in advance if you want to see the Vatican Gardens . . . that that true for the rest of Vatican City (museums etc)? How do I make these reservations? What if I'm not sure what day I will be there, I can narrow it down to a week but that area of Italy is the last leg of my trip and I don't want to feel like I'm on a time crunch.
Any info provided is a great help, thanks! -Sarah |

You don't need reservations for the Vatican Museum. There will be long lines but they move fairly quickly. St. Peters is a church and is open for visitors, no fee; no reservations.
Hopefully someone here will help you with reservations for the Vatican Gardens.

You don't have to have reservations for the museums, but you can jump the queue if you do. A good idea, if you don't make a reservation, is to get there mid to late afternoon; most people go early to beat everyone else.....and so they don't!
However, you must reserve a guided tour of the gardens. Details here: http://mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/z-Info/MV_Info_Ser The Vatican itself only takes advance bookings by fax. If you google you will find plenty of agencies offering advance booking, but you can expect to pay a premium for their services.
