eh hi again~~
hmmm...will be in Phuket and stayin @ Deewana Resort. I was wonderin if there are any bike shops that offer rental ard that area. Scooters would be fine too. WIll be in Phuket from the 8th till 13th so i dun really plan on walkin to get to where i want to go....and plus...i plan to go diving somewhere in Phi Phi. Any cool nite spots to recommend?? And will the period i'm going be a peak period or off peak??

If that's May then it is LOW season, BUT try telling that to the Thai or other business ppl, to them it's High Season all year round. But the prices are negosiabel, so say it's to much and find another place. But Phuket is getting expensive like all the southern beach areas, best to go to the River resort areas or away from the South of Thailand! If you can't then pay and enjoy, it isn't the end of the world, it's just money!Don't get involved with the many bar ladys, since they'll take you for a ride, and expensive ride, and if you do, remember condoms!

Off peak is May to September or thereabouts,so,if you're going in that time frame is cheaper,theoretically...
There are usually scooter rentals at the hotels and/or resorts or are situated very close to service the tourists...BHT150 per day/no insurance/wear a helmet..Take a copy of your passport and licence for scooter rental.If you have a motorcycle licence,all the better...Just walk down Bangla Road..heaps of bars and clubs there...Good bands and bars at corner of Rhat-u-thit and bangla.

Ah I just came back from Phuket. If U were going any earlier, we could have hang out.

Ok here's some tip.

Bike: It costs 150baht. And not always this price if u rent em in just any busy corner. I had stayed at Deewana and I took abit walking to ask some cheap hotels there if their bike outside their lobby is for rent. And I did get for 150 for one whole day plus gasoline abt for 5km ride. thts bargain aint it. I was fined for not wearing helmet for just a single moment. SO do remember to always wear em! Biking is very fun in Phuket. And make sure u do have license of ur own country. THey are lenient if u are short trip maker. So not tht strict abt needing to take intl license.

Nite spots: Bangla Rd is fun to hangout and just hop on to any of the clubs there. I think I went to a club called Thai Girl. And psst... its ez to hookup there. Not always need to pay for sex. Other than tht is all the a go go.

I went on my own and the trip was awesome. Bet it be double awesome if u go with fun ppl. Have a gd one mate!

is it dangerous to rent a bike? does it come wt insurance? what if it gets stolen, accident, etc? coverage? as much as i wanted to rent a bike, im abit wary.

Ya........heard about the dangers of riding in Phuket...maybe i'll just stick to the tuk-tuk or even try to walk~~
Got no room for holiday weight !!
