I think you may find better buys in Los Angeles. There was a recent thread about Santee street in LA - the shopping area is around Los Angeles Street 9th streets (I worked around there 40 years ago!). Need to run, but if interested post back, or look at the LA forum, all the info is there. This is the garment district in LA.

thanks but because i have an extra day in Vegas and decided to hit the outlets on that day.
also i heard that the Vegas outlets are easier to access, the ones in LA are too far away from Santa Monica where our hotel is located.

You can get to the Las Vegas Outlet Centre by bus quite easily. The last time I went I had to change buses but now it looks like you can get the Deuce bus from the Strip, heading towards the Mandalay bay end, and it will take you right there.
Here’s a link to the CAT bus site, have a look at the route map for the Deuce and right at the Southern end you will see the LVOC. http://www.rtcsouthernnevada.com/cat/routes/index.php Not sure about taxi prices, if I had to guess I would say around $30. Regards Clive

There is a trolly frpm the bus loop by Mandalay Bay $2.50 o/w and $5.00 r/t.
http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/directions.asp?id=61 A cab shouldn't be more than $20 from mid strip. I recommend a cab back to your hotel if you have alot of bags

Indeed, the Las Vegas Outlet Centre is easy to reach. It is just past the airport on Las Vegas Boulevard, so even a taxi would not be very costly from the Imperial Palace.
Others said it is not exciting, I made some great purchases there and liked it. Every time I was in Las Vegas I went to the Nike Outlet Store, and bought lots of stuff, all fantastic quality.

Hi jerbelle ... while off the outlet topic, there is a Cuban restaurant where I always go in Las Vegas - one of the best outside the Miami area, called the Florida Room http://www.planet99.com/vegas/restaurants/florida_
It's easy to get there taking the Deuce bus from the strip to the downtown area, it's a couple of blocks after the big tall needle on the right hand side, inside the Howard Johnson's restaurant. (If you go, look for the Howard Johnson's as the restaurant sign does not show). Prices are great for such good food!

This is the restaurant's actual site:
http://www.floridacafecuban.com/index.php A nice little break in between the "casino action". There's also a big mall somewhere hear the Venetian ... across the street - this is not an outlet, but an option just in case the taxi fare is so high that the savings would be eroded. Have nice stores - I only avoid Neiman Marcus as it is ridiculously overpriced.

Last post, promise ;=)
I was trying to find the address of the mall, because it's not right off the Venetian and found the following site which might help solve the confusion with the outlets - many outlets listed there: http://www.vegas.com/shopping/

Jerbelle, these two outlets are in different places. The LV Outlet Centre is the older one and this is generally where you will find the bargains. This is the one at the South end of the Strip near the airport and you can get there on the Deuce bus. The LV Premium Outlet is newer and is past the North end of the Strip towards Downtown. Buses do go there but not the Deuce, I don’t think, however it is closer so a taxi might be better.
In addition there is the Fashion Show Mall which is on the Strip opposite the Wynn and within a reasonable walking distance from the Imperial Palace. Here you will find department stores like Saks, macys, Bloomingdales etc. In fact all of the big hotels have shopping malls although they can be expensive.
