Sagada Sagada tour, help please
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 09:37 AM UTC
Am planning a trip to Sagada for 3pax probably for 3d/2n. We want to experience trekking the rice terraces, go to the small and big falls, do cave connections, and go to other must visit places there.
I need info on the itinerary, fees to be paid for the guide/tour, and the fares in getting and going around there (public transpo will be good). We'll take the Manila-Banue-Bontoc-Sagada route and then Sagada-Baguio-Manila (possibly for a day tour or an overnight stay there)...

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Does your 3D/2N include travel time? If so, it's tight!

For info on fees/tours, visit the HP of VT waan04. The last time I checked, he has a list of these tours. Most of the sites (except probably for the big falls and amphitheater-like rice terraces, the name skips me at the moment) are within walking distance of the town proper. But for the 2 sites outside town, I think you have to rent a jeep.

BTW, when you go to the big falls, you'll be passing through rice terraces.

hi, you can check tourist information in sagada municipal, regarding the caving you have to pay information fee of 15pesos. you have to pay the guide for sumaguing cave and ask them to connect you some other cave the payment is 400pesos inclding the transpo if im not mistaken. the rice teraces is located in banaue the original is in batad, you have to pay the guide too for 200pesos, its is 10km rough road on jeep or trycyle and 2 hrs walk if you want to see the stairways to heaven..sooo beautiful , the food and rooms are very cheap and the people in sagada are very hospitable and very nice ....really
happy trip

I believe the P15 fee is registration fee (and not information fee) required from all guests to Sagada so SEGA can monitor/keep track of the people visiting the area.

Sumaguing and Lumiang caves can be reached on foot, about 20mins walk from the town hall hence it is not necessary to rent a vehicle. Normally, the tour fees only cover the services of a guide (and lamp/gas for caving); transpo is a separate rental.

And while Banaue has become synonymous with rice terraces, the latter can be found in other areas in Ifugao like Batad, Hapao and Hungduan. In Sagada, there's Kiltepan, Bangaan, Ambasing, many more.

Tour fee for Sagada is P400 for any of the 3 sites. This is standard and guides hang out a the tourist registration office(required), Note that some of the sites like the hanging coffins, burial caves even as far as the falls, etc you can do it by yourself (with a good map). Sumaging and the other caves I think it is mandatory to have a guide.
