Hi,
I see different answers from different websites, ranging from start to last week of May. Does anybody knoes the exact date or where I can check this? This matters to me unfortunately because I will be in St Petersburg only on 3rd and 4th May. Thanks! |

Unfortunately the date of opening is 9th, May (according to the recent publications). The official opening of season - 31t, of May.

The date changes alittle every year for the opening of fountains. This year 2008 the fountains will open May 9th. You can check the official Peterhof website to see the date, time and the information about tickets.

Thanks for the answer and the references. It's too late for me to change the dates of my trip. Really wanted to see the fountains in their glory, should have done more research beforehand. =(

Sorry it does not work for the OP but it is great news for me!
I imagine that it will be very crowded on the 9th due to opening day and Victory day. Would you recommend going instead on the 10th or 11th? Or should I just join the crowds?

It will be a high tickets price for the opening date but sure depend on you. Do you like to be in a crowd and see nothing but people? We like to enjoy the nature, sit down on the banch by every fountain and just look at the water and listen the birds! You can also get some picnic food and just go, any day!
