i be going khorat in fews days time. will move on from bangkok. thks for all advice from all members!! Any one had any idea a famous thai monk phra kruba krissana is residing now?? wat pamahawan? how far is it from luang phor koon wat ban rai? thks in advance:D

While you are in Khorat you might want to take a side trip to nearby Phimai. In Phimai you have one of the better restored wats. There is a nice little museum too! Of course, you can't miss the "Biggest Banyan Tree in Thailand!" (Their claim!)

Figure on about an hour for the ride from the Khorat bus station. Two bus stations in Phimai, an old one downtown and a slightly newer one on the main highway. Phimai Inn is across the street (almost) from the newer bus station.

I volunteered on a couple archeology digs in Phimai years ago. We used the Phimai Inn. Cheap hotel rooms, have pool, food is okay. You can walk to the Phimai Wat from the hotel in around 20 - 30 minutes.

Wat ban rai is in Dan Khun Thod district which around half hour drive to Korat town and around 40 mins or more, drive from town to Khonburi district where Wat Pamahawan located. These 2 wats is in different side of Korat town.

Um... heard that phra kruba kissna is residing at wat veruwan? is it true?
