I can't give you the exact figures, but I'm trying to help. 1) 20 euros for a souvenir T-shirt should do, maybe a bit less. 2) About 1 euro for a litre of milk, I guess. 3) Soft drinks are quite expensive in Helsinki, about 2 euros for a 1,5 litre bottle, maybe even more. 4) Hamburger/cheeseburger 1 euro, Big Mac about 3,5. 5) Really don't know about apples, maybe 2-3 euros a kg?

Hello,
The previous posting is good and accurate. There's the shop called LIDL near the railway station in the centre of Helsinki. I have the feeling they might be closest to a budget place these days. Alepa is a good shop, too.

It's a fact prices are getting higher and higher in Finland. It's so terrible. Like today I checked the price for mineral water - 1,65euro for one litre bottle. (Finnish product, the German one in Lidl is at its best 0,79euro for 1,5litres).

Of course, in an area called Hakaniemi (Hakaniemi can be reached by underground very easily) you will find many foodstores to get more exotic food. (Just go walk the red brick building, past a shop selling bags, cross the street and you're almost there. )

I live in a place with many shops near me, but it's a zigzag between the shops -
where to buy cheapest. Everyday life for mnay of us here.
But welcome to Finland :)
regards,
