Has anyone used the site www.albania-hotels.com to book a hotel in Albania through the internet? Is it reliable? Does it work?

In August 2006 I booked several hotels in Albania through www.albania-hotel.com (with no "s", but I guess we are talking about the same site). I also booked a transfer from Tirana airport to the first hotel. Everything went fine and I would be happy to use them again.

I think I'll be using it as the hotels themselves seem a bit more complicated - one doesn't answer the e-mail and another wants a transfer of the whole amount for 2 nights to their bank account in Albania, and haven't answered again when I asked if we could use the credit card number system instead. I think albania-hotels conditions are a bit better, I presume they don't charge your credit card till nearer the time, or even let you sort it out with the hotel like Venere or booking.com do, is that how it works?

Yes, I found it that letting albania-hotels deal directly with the hotels was quicker and easier that trying to contact the hotels myself. For the hotels I booked they didn't ask for any kind of deposit that I remember, or perhaps I provided credit card details - I know that I didn't pay anything in advance. They did mention that for some hotels on the coast in summer a deposit would be required, but that didn't affect me at the time.
