I want to visit Buenos Aires this summer. I need lodgings.
How can I find lodgings that are not in a hotel?

And another question

I want to go to Santiago de Bariloche. Can I get back the same day from Buenos Aires?

Are you referring to the Northern Hemispheres' summer? Because June, July and August in the Southern Hemisphere is winter. There are many apartment rental agencies in Buenos Aires if that is what you consider an alternative to hotels. Craig's List Buenos Aires also lists rooms for rent, apartments to rent and to share. As for agents here are a couple that are reliable

http://www.apartmentsba.com/ and http://www.temporaryapartments.com.ar/

As for a one day trip to Bariloche I suppose you could do it but I would not recommend it. It is about 1700 kms from Buenos Aires and a 2 plus hour flight. If you are going in June, July or August bring your snow skis.

Sorry, but there's no such place as "Santiago de Bariloche"! Do you mean San Carlos de Bariloche or Santiago de Chile, the chilean capital? Anyways both are tooo far away for a one-day-trip.
