Katerini How can I get from Thessaloniki to Olympic beach?
Posted: Tue April 22, 2008 06:19 AM UTC
Hello! :)
Next month I am going to Olympic Beach for a couple of days and I do not know exactly how to reach Olympic beach by train. I know that there's a train from Thessaloniki to Katerini. Does anybody know how much it is and how long does it take to reach Katerini?
And my second question is: Is there a bus from Katerini to Olympic beach, because I saw that the distance is about 7 km.
Thank you!!!!!

I am sending below some hint links in order to improve your mental picture of greek Macedonia's means of conveyance:

I found out there's a paved Highway between Thessaloniki and Katerini. The road from Thessalonike to Katerini is about 100Km long.

Olympic beach is actually an extension of Paralia Katerinis, a wide sandy beach along a coastal avenue with bike lanes and pedestrian pavements. There is a bus from Katerini to Paralia every 20mins. The distance is about 7-8 km and the area belongs to the municipality of Katerini. From Thessaloniki to Katerini (about 70km) there is both train (INTERCITY train is faster while ordinary trains stop to all villages) and KTEL bus.
