Hi there, my friends and I are going to MY and SG next week. We will be arriving SG by bus from MY early in the morning. Then, we will be staying in SG for 1 night. Can anyone suggest an itinerary for this short trip?

On day 1, we have no plans yet to do in the morning but in the evening, we would like to go to the night safari.
On day 2, our plan is to go to Sentosa. My friend told me that we need a whole day to spend in Sentosa so maybe we'll leave our luggages first at the hotel as we don't want to carry them around. Then just get them back at the end of the day (after Songs of the Sea show) and then go to the airport to catch our late evening flight.

Also, any suggestion for a good hotel where we can stay? Maybe around USD100-150 per night (?) Or does it have to be in Sentosa island so that we won't be rushing to the airport?

Hiya, depending on what you like, you have quite a few choices...

For shopping, the town area will be the best, so I will recommend Orchard road.
For culture, you may want to visit Chinatown, Little India or the Malay village.

The whole tour of the night safari takes around 2 hrs odd so I will like to suggest that you make a trip to the Esplanade area in the evening before touring night safari. You can take a ride on the Singapore Flyer (like London eye)or walk along the Singapore River. The night scenery is rather beautiful.

There's no way you're going to get a hotel on Sentosa for that price. Sentosa is virtually part of the mainland because of the efficient transport system connecting it, so there's not much problems regarding accomodation.

I'd suggest you find a hotel somewhere central, and from almost anywhere on the island it's only at most an hour by train to the airport.

Have a page on SGP should you care to take a look and see if the tips are any useful. Have some budget hotel recommendations as my "Hotel" tips as well though for US100-150, you could grab a 3 stars hotel just off town. The hotels on Sentosa are more expensive.

i don't have idea yet on the hotel prices so i just made a guess and i've also based on the hotel prices that i know from other countries. i guess it is more expensive in SG then. =D

Is the travel to the airport in SG as convenient as that of Hong Kong's (in HK, they have Airport Express, do SG have the same)?

May i know how long will be the travel time from the hotel in sentosa to the airport and also from hotel in central area to the airport?

Airport connectivity is excellent.
It will cost you not more than 20 minutes and USD 15 (SGD 20) to travel from Sentosa (or central Singapore) to airport.

The above travel estimate is for taxi travel...
Besides, you have public transport too readily available i.e. MRT and buses(time: 1 hr., cost USD 1.5)

There is no airport express. The subway called the MRT is linked the the airport on the Green East-West line but the train will stop at every stop along the way.
