Melbourne Tips for accommodation
Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 08:03 PM UTC
Hi all,

In June my girlfriend and I will visit Melbourne for five days. We have some basic questions:

- What are the must sees in Melbourne? We like to walk a lot to see as much as possible and are not really art lovers. Tips are welcome
- Does anybody have suggestions for some nice hostel accommodation for two thirty year olds? We would like to get in touch with people but don't like a party hostel with only twenty year olds
- We know it is winter in Melbourne, but what temperature and weather can we expect in June?
- What is the one thing that you have to do when you are in Melbourne for the first time?

Thanks a lot!

Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Melbourne is known as the city with 4 seasons in a day, but in winter(June) it will be cold for Australians and drizzle rain, just enough to anoy you. Bring a raincoat and a good warm jacket.

Melbourne has much to offer, great public transport system, interestering shops and a great Arcade system linking the city blocks. The markets are a must see, has everything from food to clothes, bring your wallet. You could go to an Australian Rules football mach, fanatic supporters. Many good restaurant sectors, Lygon Street, St Kilda etc etc. Also there are many discount fashion outlets.Federation Square in the city usually has something on every day and night.
