It takes 2 or 3 hours from Salzburg to Krimml, changing in Zell-am-See and Mittersill and sometimes also in Schwarzach-St. Veit (just put in salzburg and krimml and your starting time and date into http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en). Then you have to walk from Krimml to the falls, see http://www.planetware.com/austria/krimml-falls-a-s-kri.htm
