Lisse Travel Forum

Hi!
We are planning to visit Tulip field, but are advised to delay my trip as there are still no flowers in the fields. Can anyone please let me know about the current flower status of the fields and when should we visit Lisse ?

Tulip season is normally around mid-April, but Keukenhof is open until mid-May (in 2008, from 20 March to 18 May), so you can't delay all that long anyway. I have seen plenty of tulips where I am, a little further south (Brussels).

We have been there yesterday and it is a splendid time right now, with three different bulbflowers blossoming symultaneously: Narcisses, Hyacinths and Tulips. This is due to the relatively cold spring until now, with many night frosts until one week ago. Now the season is at it's peak, lasting about two weeks. Then the last fields will be "harvested". The Keukenhof will be open until the end of May.

Indeed, the Keukenhof gardens are beautiful now. I was there 21 April (yesterday) and already put up some photos on my Keukenhof page.
They plant the bulbs so that they bloom consequently. Some have finished, others are in bloom, and there are more to come.
I advise you to rent a bike after your visit and do a short tour around the bulb fields outside Keukenhof. I also put up photos of what the bulb fields look like now. Brilliant colours.

Gaminari is correct: Keukenhof is open until May 18 (not end of May).

So we are just in time for our bike tour from Noordwijkerhout tomorrow !!

Hahaha, Anke-Thea, 18th of May is second half of May and therefore for me simply, the end of May ... (-:
Anyway, now and until plus two weeks is the time to take a ride through the colourful fields and maybe visit the Keukenhof, or museum the Black Tulip or Panorama Tulipland.
