Lago di Garda Travel Forum

Hi all,

I am flying to Treviso Venice(TSF) airport and was considering hiring a car to get to Lake Garda, but was wondering if there was an alternative which was easy to use?

In that I mean you don't have to change in 3 places!!! If not, I don't mind driving, but is nice to leave the car keys behind for a couple of weeks!

It would be helpfull to know whereabouts on Lake Garda you are intending travelling to.........someparts being more accessable than others.

I'm a lazy boy. I would rent a car. And one with a GPS.
A couple of weeks around Lake Garda with public transport it is too annoying for me.
There are so many town to visit and the roads are nice and someone are scenic route too.

Sorry, we're either staying at Garda / Bardolino or Malcesine. We've not decided yet...

We were just wondering generally how easy it is from Treviso as all the info is from Verona.

We have Tom Tom with European maps which we've used well in Spain and Portugal. But I drive 30K miles a year and fancied being driven!! My wife doesn't like driving abroad!

By public transport:
from Treviso Airport to Venezia Mestre Train Station:
Bus connections from the Treviso railway station to the airport (and viceversa)
Line 6 conncted in about 15-20 min the Treviso railway station to the Treviso airport:

sorry. the connection from airport to train station is at Treviso, but I gave you the train connection to Garda from Venezia Mestre!
Well from Treviso to Venezia MEstre there is another Bus line
(line ATVO EUROBUS SERVICE) and it takes 1h and 10'.

there are few direct connection (no change) the most need one change in Venezia Mestre. It takes more then 2 hr.
