| Phuket | Phi Phi Island Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 04:52 AM UTC
Hi There,
We're not far off booking a holiday to Phuket for early to mid May. I just wanted some information on Phi Phi Island before I book anything. What's the best area to stay in on the island? What 5 star resort accommodation is reccommended? And what is there to do on the island? Thanks Lisa |

We stayed at Phi Phi Island Village Resort and Spa (3 nights)in February last year. I cannot wait to return. The accomodation and food were perfect. There is longtail boat hire from the resort - you can hire the boat and driver to take you around the island to the many beaches or over to the smaller island where Maya Bay is. We spent our time swimming and snorelling. It was really a wonderful experience staying on the island rather than a day trip. Hope this is of some help.

I agree with the previous VTer the true beauty of PP is not recognised until all the day trippers leave. Personally any area is perfect we usually book a overnight trip through a travel agent in Patong and get a pretty good deal for 2 full days and 1 nights accomodation with b/fast. As you are going in off season you may find a similar deal check the boards outside travel agents.

You will be there in low season so the prices will be more reasonable. There are so many resorts you can choose from. Check out VT member suggestions for insight reviews. You can do snorkelling, diving and sun bathing in Phi Phi island. There is a magnificent view point where you can watch the sunset. Restaurans are cheap and food (especially seafood) is very delicious. Enjoy your stay there :)

Lisa,
There are a number of luxury resorts on Phi Phi. My own favorite is Zeavola. It's small and intimate. There's also the Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island, and of course PPIVR mentioned above. there's not really a lot to do on the island other than a couple of hikes to lookout points and of course watersports. If you stay at one of the better hotels, you will find you're not right in Ton Sai Village at all, so you will essentially be relaxing and enjoying the resort most of the time.
