safety in slovakia

I m planning to visit Bratislava for a few days, by car. Can ahybody tell me how is about safety there, for cars and in youth hostels.

Well, using a mechanical safety appliance and do not let any interesting things in a car is useful. Burglars often "works" on parkings in front of the shopping centers too. Be careful, but I do not think that gangs in a body waits for all tourists. My country is as safe as another countries in EU in fact.

Well thanks both for offer and for optimistic estimation then.

It is usual and helpful strategy - not to have mobile phones in car.

Do you have any ixperiences with youth hostels?

Well, I haven´t slept there for 20 years :-),
but I guess, it is quite OK accomodation for young people. You can find one of them here http://www.garda.sk/index.php?ids=111 or other ones here http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/slovakia/bratislava/

Generally, the longer way from the centre, the better for parking.
