I wondered if anyone can suggest a hotel/guesthouse for me, I need 2 nights accomodation in Athens from 22nd June and was looking at Athens Backpackers but at €25 per night for a dorm bed is expensive and I wondered if for a few more euros if I could get a private room? Am not looking for anything fancy just clean. I have been looking but the only places I have found for my budget is in Omonia and as a single female traveller it would be ok for 1 night but am not sure about 2nights?

omonia is not as bad as in the old days and itīs ok for a single girl.
i have a review of a hotel on my athens page that i thought was quite good.
it was called pegasus.

Don't risk staying near Omonia.

The cheapest hotel I found in Central Athens was John's Place Hotel at #5 Patroou Street, just off Mitropoleos Street about 2 blocks down from Syntagma Square, 10 minutes' walk from the airport express bus stop next to Syntagma. I paid 35 euro for a single room with shared bath. Unfortunately they don't have a website but you can call them.
