Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 02:35 AM UTC
I'm excited to know that guangzhou is a great place to shop since i'll be going there soon! however, i would really appreciate if anyone could let me know where are the best places to shop for the latest fashion (the malls or the streets) that are not too pricey as well as places that sells replica designer bags... Thanks!

yeah i did, but i wanna know the places i could actually go to since my stay in guangzhou will probably be a short one. So it would be great if i had a few places in mind to go to instead of searching around for a good place to shop... also, i read somewhere that replica designer goods are not sold in Beijing St. so i'm kinda wondering where i could possibly get it. btw, thanks for ur prev reply ;b

There is quite a good shopping mall on top of Changshoulu. That's called Hengbao Plaza. (Includes a reasonable sushi restaurant too, as well as KFC and Fairwood). [Eventually] come out of plaza and cross street. Turn right (downhill. This leads to Shangxia 9 lu (or maybe xiashang 9 lu). Lots of cheap stuff here. It's mostly pedestrian, and eventually leads into Beijing lu, which is more expensive.

Try Liu Xing Qian Xian for the latest fashion stuff (Metro station Lie Shi Ling Yuan on line 1). It's just adjacent to the metro station. You don't need to come out on to the ground, just stay underground, follow the flow of people once you're outta of the station, and this will lead you to many shops (and small restaurants) for the latest fashions. Especially popular for the youngsters -- I feel I'm too old for it (@29).
As for replica desinger bags, I don't know about Guangzhou, but know that there's a big shopping mall in Shenzhen near the border with HongKong -- just before you cross the border for immigration. Loads of "A level" designer replica stuff, from bags to watches.
