| Pescara | Travel from Amalfi Coast to Pescara Posted: Sat April 19, 2008 04:27 AM UTC
Does anyone know the fastest and easiest way to get from Sorrento to Pescara? We are travelling from Rome to Sorrento and then going to Pescara. I know that there is a bus from Rome to Pescara but cannot seem to find any information about travelling (train/bus or Air) to Pescara from the Naples/Sorrento.
Can anyone help me? |

This web site in italian shows you the bus leaving from Garibaldi square in Napoli for Pescara: http://www.italybus.it/orario1.asp one way ticket costs 20€ and you can buy it in this agency in Napoli: Agenzia VECCHIONI, piazza Garibaldi, tel 081-5630320
You can also go by train (cost is about 36€ but it depends on the train you use) for timetables: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html Corra

It looks as if you will need to get into Naples from Sorrento.
Use the private Circumvesuviana train (which will not appear on the Trenitalia site). Journey to Napoli Centrale station (for train to Pescara) takes around an hour. Timetables here: http://www.vesuviana.it/Reteeorari/Ferrovia/Orario I'd take the train, personally. For comfort, if nothing else.

Napoli Central is by P. Garibaldi, so you'd be near the bus too. Takes around 4 and a half hours. Timetables here:

We took the train from Sorrento to Pescara in September of 2001. The line from Sorrento goes into Napoli at the low level - you then surface and get the Pescara train from the main train station.
We did this on a Sunday which I recall restricted our choice to one train that day, took the better part of 6 hours. (Only did Pescara to as far as Rome by coach so not sure about coach links Sorrento to Rome)

Thankyou for the information. Do you know which train would go to Pescara?
