| Washington D.C. | Transportation from Reagan to Dulles airports Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 04:04 PM UTC
My party of 7 are flying in from Orlando tomorrow (Saturday April 19th)to Ronald Reagan National and have a connecting flight to Heathrow from Dulles. We will have quite a few cases and have no idea what would be the best way to get to Dulles Airport. Does anyone know if there is a bus service running between the two airports or would we have to get cabs? We fly in at about 1.45 and flight to London is about 6.30.
Thanks. |

There is a bus service called Washington Flyer. Also taxi service too. This is about a 40 minute drive so you might just need to take a taxi in order to have enough time. Taxi will probably be close to $50 with tip.

The Washngton Flyer bus does not go all the way to Reagan National from Dulles. It only goes to the West Falls Church Metro Station. Therefore, you would have to take the Washington Flyer taxi or the Super Shuttle. Here is some info on the taxi:

I know I'm too late for this one, but for what it's worth, here are the transport options from Reagan to Dulles:
1: Go to the airport Metro station, buy a ticket to Rosslyn, take a free "Metrobus Transfer" from the push-button machine just inside the fare gates. Take the Blue Line (direction: Largo Town Center) to Rosslyn. Exit Rosslyn and ask the Metro attendant how to get to the "5A" Bus. Go to the bus stop and board Bus 5A to Dulles Airport. Fare is approximately $3.55 per person with transfer. 2: Go to the airport Metro station, but a ticket to West Falls Church. Take the Blue Line (direction: Largo Town Center) to Rosslyn. At Rosslyn, take the escalator downstairs and change for the Orange Line (direction: Vienna-Fairfax) to West Falls Church. At West Falls Church, follow the signs to the Washington Flyer bus. Metro fare to West Falls Church is between $1.85 and $3.35, depending on time of day. One-way fare on the Washington Flyer from West Falls Church to Dulles is $9. 3: Arrange for a shuttle van to drive you from Reagan to Dulles. A good choice is SuperShuttle. They are offering a private van between the two airports for up to 7 people for $150. Take a look at http://www.supershuttle.com for details if inerested. Sorry I didn't see this question sooner... Ex-Mainer,
I quoted the price for a private van, not a shared van. In fact, SuperShuttle does not offer shared vans between the airports, probably for the reason you mentioned.
