| Copenhagen | Taking a ferry Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 01:31 PM UTC
Please help me to get the info about the ferry to get from Germany to Denmark. What is the web site? What are the prices, duration of a ride, opening hours? Any peculiarities?
Many thanks in advance! |

Two options here: Rostock - Gedser or Rodby - Putgarden. Depends on where you want to go and where you're starting. Rostock is closer to Berlin, Rodby is closer to Hamburg. However, ferry only makes sense when you want to travel to the eastern parts of Denmark. Prices depend on the month you're travelling in (much more expensive in summer) and whether you're travelling in a car or as a foot passenger. More infos on both connections at www.scandlines.com . If you don't have a car it could be much cheaper to book a coach (e.g. Berlin - Copenhagen = 29 Euro) instead of going to the ferry terminal by train and then paying extra for the boat trip.

Just in case someone gets confused, coming from Germany it is of course Putgarden - Rodby and Putgarden is the port in Germany.
