Córdoba Villanueva de Córdoba
Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 11:16 AM UTC
Hi.

I'm going to Villanueva de Córdoba for a friends wedding. I will arrive on the 25th of April and stay there until the 27th.
It will be a short 3 day stay.

But what can i expect? What shouldn't i miss?

Is there any special plate that i should try?

Thanks!

Best regards.

If you mean THE Cordoba with the wonderful Mezquita then you must not miss the Mezquita! wonderful beautifully radically designed mosque with an unfortunate centre replaced with a roman catholic church!
plus the surrounding sites around it - the roman bridge, views along the river, the Alcazar?, the little streets...

I remember two dishes we had when visited Cordoba. Salmorejo: cold tomato soup, with other vegetables and olive oil...

and Rabo de Toro: The tail of the bull or the cow stewed in a great way.

You can have those dishes in diferent parts of spain nowadays, but they are very "traditional" arround there.

Have fun.

That short video gives you a birds eye view of the small town north of Cordoba in the hills. It looks very nice.
Seems that you may be in 'jamon' country. Try the local jamones. Especially the ones fed on acorns in the wild !

( QUIZ: what is the music that is on the soundtrack? )
