Well, you're gonna visit Miami right in the middle of the hurricane season. It doesn't mean you have to expect a storm, but it may happen!

I believe the Miami Ink is on Washington Ave maybe one or two blocks south of Espanola Way, on the western sidewalk. I saw some tattoo kind-of-shooting there when I lived in the beach.

First of all, thanks for answering!

Hurricane season? That's way the prices are so low!

Should i be afraid?

The weather at that time allow me to go to the beach and relax at the sun (if the hurricanes doesn't appear) or is it too cold?

It's hurricane season as the other member mentioned, but typically September, especially October will have slightly less rainstorms vs. June through August. The ocean will still be warm - low to mid 80's. Basically as long as there arn't any hurricanes during your visit, you won't have any probems sun tanning on the beach or ocean. Regarding hurricanes, you don't have to be "afraid" most of the time they are no big deal unless you live in a trailer, it's just more of an annoyance than anything else. Don't worry about, the odds are with you. Have a good trip!

It's not the hot weather that's the problem in Miami that time of year. It's the humidity which is often very, very high. But that's Florida and just expect it and don't worry. There's lots to do and it's a vibrant place to visit.

As to weather, yes, Sept. and Oct. are still considered "active" hurricane season months however, as a poster mentions, it's the rains (weekly if not daily) that are a bother.
they bring the humidity WAY up and, coupled with the heat it can be a sauna.
End of October weather usually starts to cool some...

Hurricanes are unpredictable and a hit and miss thing. We've had good fortune last couple of years but, we've had virtually no winter to speak of this year which means our oceans are unseasonably warm.

As to Miami Ink, it is at 1344 Washington Ave.

Thanks for all your answer!

Besides the beach, sun, rain and hurricanes, what does Miami have to offer in those months?

=)

Best regards.

if you can come as late in the hurricane season, which ends on november 1st, the better. the last big one to hit Miami was on a september 12th a few years ago.
there is no way of predicting hurricanes and their severity but you can expect thunderstorms, high humidity, beautiful clouds, sunshine.
apart from the beaches and the night clubs:
the best place in the world to eat CUBAN food and practically half the population of MIAMI is fluent in Spanish and they might even understand your Portuguese if you speak slowly!
Everglades National Park, one of the few national parks specialized in fauna and flora, no mountains or great rivers. but lovely drive to the end of the road to the bay.
Bring lots of mosquito cream or spray.
lovely drive over the keys to key west, even though you can driver there and back in one day, 200 km one way, it is better to stay there one night. otherwise go up to the top of the keys, and visit Alabama Jacks, an institution at Key largo.
Key Biscayne and the old lighthouse. crandon park beach. eating out by the bay.
Miami specializes in the body rather than the brain. There is a great cultural diversity here but a little difficult to penetrate it: Haitians, Jamaicans, other West Indians, Colombians, Large number of Brasilians, and of course some americans!! Cubans dominate the economy and their migration and success is a great testament to the USA..

For NBA tickets it varies depending on the match and seats of course. Type NBA tickets in google and there will be a lot of websites you can buy/compare prices. I visited the Seaquarium awhile ago and I remember it being just okay, not really worth the admission cost. Take a tour with Thriller (http://www.thrillermiami.com/index.htm), great value there.

I agree about the Seaquarium not being worth it.
Sea World Orlando is much better, if you can find the time to make it up there (about 4 hours away).

Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and Downtown are all safe. Miami has some really bad hoods, but there's no reason you'd be visiting them anyways.

What you see in series, such as Miami CSI is not really Miami.
It is filmed very high grade, showing only actual Miami aerial shots.
Most of the actual filming is done in California!

Miami is no less safe than any other large city. Just be aware, careful and sensible.
Do not act like a foolish tourist flashing money around or, using ATMS in unlit areas.
Same rule of thumb we use whenever we travel to any other city or part of the world, we use here in our own back yard.

I always rent AVIS rent a car which has excellent service. you may wish to compare prices. many companies tend to lower prices depending upon supply and demand. Just one warning: more than once when there is an event in Miami, cars are sold out. so better book early. the car rental locations are outside the airport and you have to take a shuttle eventhough all major agencies such as AVIS maintain desks at various terminals of arrival where you collect your luggage. Definitely, rates are going to be cheaper when booking through internet rather than walk up prices. ALAMO and THRIFTY are very popular as well. there are less well known ones such as Interamerican and Enterprise etc. check directly with the websites of the car rental agencies www.avis.com rather than www.travelocity.com or expedia. I have never found Travelocity to offer any cheaper rates in Miami or elsewhere than the ones advertised by the ar rental companies themselves.
If you are concerened about safety, please make sure where you are driving to, especially at night, there are some neighbourhoods which are not safe to drive through at night.
Boa Sorte, Buena Suerte..

My friends, thanks dor your answers.

About safety, and in todays reality, i believe that no place is complety safe...but is better to ask to those who live there. Europe and the United States and very very diferent.

About the car rental, is Europe is very dificult to rent a bike. In the US is easier?

By the way, i believe that you use gallons instead of liters, right? How much is the price of the gasoline?

Where can i see the rules aplied to the US roads (speed limit, etc...)

Thanks...Gracias...Obrigado!

It's easy to rent cars in the US, because that's how most people travel here. Trains and buses are hardly ever used and are usually used by those who can't afford a car or plane ticket. The current gas prices in the Miami area are around $3.70 to $3.90 per gallon. Have a nice trip!

For the most part, driving in the US is more laid back than in Europe. Most rules will be self explanatory. Instead of round abouts, we have four-way stops. Basically, as you come to the intersection, you must come to a complete stop, and you take turns going into the intersection based on the order you arrived. When you are driving on the freeway, the far left lane is known as the fast lane or passing lane, so if you are going the speed limit, don't stay in that lane because you will *** a lot of people off who want to speed.
