Hello!

I am a retired NYPD Detective currently working in Iraq with the Department of State. in 1997 my wife and I traveled through Trieste and several local Police Officers helped us out with locating a hotel, restaurant and auto repair shop. They were very helpful and friendly and the police brotherhood that stretched across the many miles was refreshing to me. I plan, once again, to visit Triest for a couple of days in July (2008) with my wife and this time will bring our 4 youngest children. I tried to e-mail the hotel we stayed at the last time (Hotel Milano) but they ignored 2 e-mails from me. I was wondering if anyone had an e-mail for the local Trieste Police, so that I could e-mail them and possibly coordinate with them my visit. I have several pictures of my wife and I with the local police that assisted us. I'd like to send them these pictures in my e-mail and see if these guys are still around. Thanks!

I've just called the hotel, they think that your mails could be misdirected to another hotel (in Bergamo). The correct address is info@hotel-milano.com.
By the way if you want to call directly ask for Mrs.Diana (english speaking), I've give them your name and they are happy to have you again at their hotel.

Mario, Marco has also given you the hotel's fax number, and as we have often discussed here on VT, Italian hotels often do better with fax than email - even if they do get it, the one person who reads the email might be out of the hotel for a week (it happens ;-) ).

So if you don't get an answer quickly by email and you don't want to telephone, try the fax - it's old technology that is well understood by the Italian hotel industry...assuming that the State Department still has faxes ;-)...
