How early should I get to the ticket kiosk to get ticket for the first daily tour?

In case anyone else is interested, the answer to the above question is by 8am at the latest, by 7:30am is best if you want the first tour of the day.

http://www.house.gov/house/tour_services.shtml Then here: http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/visiting/a_three_ Do you have any contacts in the U.S.? If so, ask them for a favor -- because the best way is to get a staffer from a Congressman's or Senator's office to take you on a tour, independent of the herds and crowds. The junior staffers do it constantly for visiting constituents and time of day generally doesn't matter. They're especially happy to help international visitors, esp. those from loyal allies. If you don't have any U.S. contacts and lining up at the crack of dawn for a long time isn't your thing, consider asking the Embassy of Australia for help in facilitating your visit.
