Helsinki in winter

Terve!

I have been to Helsinki quite a few times.... but everytime I was there it was summer (at least officially ;).

Now I am going in October/November and I wonder what could I do during the day (apart from shopping and meeting VT members obviously ;).

I have basically seen most tourist attractions, washed a carpet and been to Suomenlinna a hundred times. Have you got any new ideas for me that are nice even in early winter? When does it turn dark in late October/early November btw?

Kiitoksia paljon & Thanks

Well, at least the National Museum has been repaired...There's a new restaurant/brewery opened in the centre of Helsinki (the only brewery in Helsinki)...How about spending some quality time around Helsinki - like Espoo?? Of course, I'm not biased, it just happens to be my hometown..
Or then, you can take the train to Turku and explore it for a day. Or Tampere, they're both only some two hours from Helsinki by bus or by train (by bus it's cheaper, Tampere was 17something euros one way..) -I'm not a student.
Just let us know when you'll be here..:))
regards,
Soili

Have another Lonkero....and another....and another....
These days it is getting dark around 18:30 or so, you can expect at list minus one hour or one and a half of dayöight, but I am not sure when the summer clock is over and you will lose another hour on that.

Thanks everybody!

I'll be there from 30 October to 2 November. Unfortunately that's only short and we will be busy busy busy I guess. But it would be nice to meet some people on 1 November hopefully (see Meetings & Events).
