Antigua Guatemala Travel Forum

im planning to go to Guatemala on the begining of June. For my last weekend i olaned to go from Antigua to Copan ( Honduras) to see the ruins. I have found that very often they proposed 2 days trip, however i was not able to contact with any tracvel agency in Antigua to give be better answer - IF 1 DAY TRIP FROM ANTIGUA TO COPAN AND COME BACK TO ANTIGUA late night is possible ? and is it worth ??? I will have to choose or to go for 2 days to see Copan ruins and then visit Antigua town only for a half a day ( late evening flight back) or 1 day in Honduras ( Copan ruins) and then 1.5 day visiting Antigua city...

was is better ? Do you have any experience, recomendations, knowledge how long such a 1 day trip can take ? name of the good travel agencies in Antigua which will help me to better plan it ??? Thanks for helping in advance ;)

I think it is possible as long as you can find such a bus schedule. But it would be tight because it takes about 4 to 5 hours by bus each way. Here is a bus company - http://www.hedmanalas.com. There are plenty of travel agencies in Antigua that can provide you transportation as well.

from Antigua Guatemala to Ruins Copan 3:30 am and
6:30 am (duration 6 hours)
The price (one way)
Executive Service: $. 41.00 for person round trip $77.00
Plus Service: $. 53.00 for person one way round trip $ 101.00
bus service from Ruins Copan to Antigua Guatemala at 1:30 pm and
6:00 pm (with 6 hours of duration) make a stop in Guatemala City.

You definitely should stay at least 1 or even 2 nights in Copan Ruinas. See my page on both Antigua & Copan Ruinas. Simple & Direct with good recs.
