My Wife and I are
coming to Sandals Whitehouse Resort on June 24th and statying for a week. We had been on a cruise ship previously and went to Ocho Rios and to Dunns River Falls and had a blast and loved the culture. We would love to one day while we are there to travel to the more populated area for shopping and authentic Food at a local Reastaurant along with that evening going to a Night Club for dancing. How much is it to get there by Taxi; or what is the best method for doing this as far as where we should go. We have found that dealing with the locals is alot cheaper than going through the Resorts or ship. Thanks for any information you could provide.

You are correct, there are many great people & taxis that will show u all of the island. I have several friends that I have hired for the day for a very resonable rate. For a day trip shopping or ? I usually gas up their car offer them some lunch and pay them 20 or 30 $ us. Remember that the minumium wage is about $60.00 us per week so dont let them retire on one day trip. Many days are not full of work for them so a chance to meet a tourist is a wonderful time for them , something they will charish.
