Malcesine Travelling by Car

Hi
We are hiring a car from Brescia Airport for our holiday in May and was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to drive to Malcesine and also how easy is it to travel from Malcesine to Venice and how long does it take.

Taking leave of Brescia Airport you may find Highway A-4 heading to Garda Lake.
Garda Lake is the biggest Lake in Italy and is nearby Brescia and Verona.
So you must go pointed to Verona for that time being then you may find the road 249. It's near Peschiera de Garda. I don't know where's the by-road but it must be someone connecting A-4 to 249. You will use the by-road in order to go to the left side of 249 road.
Once you are on the 249 go ahead till Malcesine.
I will attach the Italy's Highway Map to your next trip to Venice via VTe-mail. I believe you will use the A-4 Highway again to go to this town. And Verona is around 140Km far from Venice. It will be a very fast car trip.

Use the upper link to watch the Malcesine Map. Click on "Garda Map".

Brescia to Malcesine is just about 100 KM. This will take you about an hour and 1/2 if there's no traffic. A few parking lots in Malcesine, but they can be tight.

From Malcesine to Venice is 175 KM, and a 2hr trip. You can go to one of the mapping websites to show you the routes. www.viamichelin.com is good for europe and shows you estimated times, distance, costs for tolls, fuel.

Driving out to Venice, you can park at Piazzale Rome, a few car parks there, right at the start of the Grand Canal. Around 25 Euro for a day.

ciao

Hi the tips you have had are really useful as we are also driving from Brescia airport to Malcesine at end of May! We looked into driving to Venice but I think we are going to take the train from Peschiera (drive there & park at the station) according to posts on the forum its not too expensive and the exit from the train station at Venice is one of the best views there is.. The trains go every hour and it seems a nice way to see the area. Up to you of course but theres info on the forums for lago di garda & malcesine if you take a look back. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

Thank you for that information, it seems very useful. Its nice to have some sort of knowledge with you before you go so that you know what you are up against. The directions you gave me seem quite straight forward so shouldn't have to much difficulty getting there.
