Honolulu Honolulu Stopover
Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 07:43 AM UTC
Hi everyone :-)

We have an all day stopover in Honolulu on our way to Vancover in September.
(arrive 7.45am Saturday morning & depart 10.10pm Saturday night).

Have just checked out the Honolulu Airport web site and says:

"Due to Security, Locker Storage is not available. We will not answer any e-mail regarding where you can store your luggage. The airport does not have this facility. You must ask the airline you are flying on if they can store it for you".

Anyone have any ideas what we can do for luggage storage in Honolulu so that we can go and sightsee and not have to worry?

Thanks
Col & Sue

I totally agree with W.E.L. You only have a few hours so you don't want to waste time waiting for and sitting in public transit. Get a car for the day!

Hi
You might want to travel by bus..It is 2 dollars which includes a tranfer...???? and the Luggage.....
Depending on how big the luggage is ..At the Ala Moana Shopping Center there are lockers for public use..If you don't have a vehicle to put personal belongings in, use an Ala Moana locker. Lockers are available next to the main restrooms on the street level. Please hold onto the paper that the automated machine provides; it includes a number code that you need to use in order to open your locker.

Just one other thing......if we need a shower, does anyone know where we could go do that? After I have travelled all the way from Perth I think I will need one lol

Thanks again.

Hi
http://www.hawaii.gov/dot/airports/hnl/index.htm I think they have or use to have showers at the Airport... If you can't find one there.. There are plenty of showers at the Beaches.. : ) Just Joking..But it is an idea !! http://www.ifly.com/honolulu-international-airport/layover-ideas

Thanks for everyones input. :-)

We have decided that since it will be over 24 hours from the time I leave Perth, fly to Melbourne to meet Sue, then fly to Sydney and then reach Honolulu, that we will be in need of some rest before flying on to Vancouver. From there we have 3 ultra full days of sightseeing before our Alaska cruise.

So after much searching found that the Wyland Waikiki will allow us to check in just for the day at a very reasonable rate. A nice shower and a sleep and perhaps a quick look around Waikiki to freshen us up for awesome trip ahead.

Cheers
Col & Sue
