Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Moscow Hotels outside Moscow City Centre?
Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 01:33 PM UTC
Were staying in Moscow in May (Champions League Final)

We'd rather stay maybe 2 or 3 stops on the metro away from the City Centre. Can anyone recommend any hotels?

Thanks,
Shirley

2 or 3 stops won't get you very far out of the city centre.
I would rent an apartment; its cost effective as even poor quality hotels are expensive in Moscow.

http://www.cityrealtyrussia.com/moscow_apartments.html is one of many sites.

Thanks for the advice! Were really thinking of apartments now instead of hotel rooms.

Thanks again!

You'll have to go more than a few stops to get out of the center and several stops out, if anything, you'll find perhaps something Intoursit (Soviet Era).. about as welcoming as a state hospital. Moscow is lacking about the same amount of Western style hotel rooms as Chicago already has, most everything is a 4 star with 5 star prices, whether it is 4 star or not. Best to rent an apartment. If you know anyone there, they may be able to help, otherwise, there are services... a bit pricy, but still way less than the hotels.
