Hi

A few of us are travelling to Krakow in mid June and wondered if there was a speedway track nearby. It doesn't need to be a premier division meeting - we'd just like to go and watch!

The closest speedway track is located in Tarnow (80 km from Krakow). There's, one of the best Polish speedway clubs - Unia Tarnow. The timetable of the matches You can find on the official webpage of the club (unfortunately only in Polish):

True, Tarnów has a decent speedway track, but I wouldn't say Unia is one of the best clubs any more, I hear they've been doing quite poorly recently. Anyway, some of my friends who are great speedway fans would certainly recommend coming to a meeting, they say it's the best thing you can do in Tarnów, haha :) If you decide to come from Kraków, there is good railway connection with Tarnów. It's best to take a regional, or 'slow' train and get off in Tarnów Mościce, which is one station before Tarnów Główny (Central). The track is right next to the station in Mościce. Fast trains do not stop there and besides, they are more expensive and not that faster. But it's an option if you want to do some sightseeing in the old town. From the centre it's easy to get to Mościce, just take bus number 9 (direction Mościce) and it will drop you off right in front of the track.
