| Cairo | Need Cairo Apt. Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 01:00 AM UTC
Hello all!
I will be residing in Cairo in mid-June through July but I'm having some trouble finding an apt. (within a reasonable budget of $1,200 for 6 weeks) and in the area of Nasr City/Heliopolis. There's very few listings as most are for brokers who will only help upon arrival, but I believe it would be most wise to have a home reserved prior. Though I check Craigslist and Expatriates.com daily....Does anyone have any idea where else one can look for apt. rentals - or perhaps know of an available apt. in Nasr City/Heliopolis? Thanks so very much for any advice! |

I guess that 1200$ is too little amount for foreigner renting rates! specially if you want it furnitured and in good and safe location,,try to contact some local tour companies that may give you some deals specially that June and July isn't season for foreigners!
If you have any questions or need any help i can help you so feel free to ask me any thing about Egypt : ) RoseGirl

Unfortunately I cannot find the phone number of the woman who rented me my apartment in Heliopolis in 2005 - I will search again. But the good news is that a one-bedroom furnished flat near the Military Academy (within 5 minutes of the airport) cost 1,000 LE per month = 170 USD. And this woman only rented to non-Egyptians. Your cost should not exceed the budget you indicated as I looked at many nicer flats which were not significantly more expensive. You should be able to rent for 3,000 LE or less per month.
