hello,

Last year enjoyed my vacations in this region - fantastic places :-)

Sorrento to Capri - the best is by ferry, for sure. they go every 40 minutes, and the price is 8.80 Euro one way. The trip takes 30-40 minutes.

Sorrento to Naples - i went by bus from the Naples airport. It took one and a half hour becasue of the traffic jams (on the weekends lots of people were going to the beach and cars were parked on the road blocking part of it). but trains are also available (see the link below)

For Rome is better to take train. You can get by train to Naples and take a Eurostar of Alta velociata train to Rome. all time tables you can find at the site:
http://www.trenitalia.com/it/nazionali.shtml

have a great trip,
Yulia

The only trains from Naples to Sorrento are those listed on the Circumvesuviana site. As it's a privately-owned line its timetables do not appear on the Trenitalia site.

There are buses, but they are prone to traffic congestion (and there is plenty of that). Trains to Naples (and Pompeii/Herculaneum/Villa Poppea etc) are frequent, cheap and by far the easiest way to travel.

Just got back from Sorrento last Sunday. The Circumvesuvia was running well about every 30 mins between Naples and Sorrento & vice versa. €3.20 each way, less for Pompeii etc stops.

To Capri there is a fast ferry from Sorrento 07:45, 09:25, 14:30, 19:00 takes 25 mins for €8.80 each way. Also a Jetfoil much more frequently takes 20 mins and is €12.50 each way.

I believe the Autolinee Marozzi runs Sorrento to Rome 06:00 & 17:00 and takes 4 hours, no info on the fare on that one.
