I would like to find out an estimate cost of a taxi from airport to Albert Cuyp area. we are 4 adults traveling together, and how we can get a metered taxi. Thanks!

All taxis from Schiphol should be correctly metered. The police did a big control very recently and picked up any taxi driver that had his/hers set incorrectly.

TCA (Taxicentrale Amsterdam) has clear rates:

Fixed fee € 7,50 (2 km free)
Per km. after 2 km € 2,20
Per km. after 25 km € 1,75
Per km. after 50 km € 1,45

Or ask for the fixed rates which should be between 33 and 39 euro.

Schiphol Airport - Albert Cuypstraat = 15 kms.
When you leave Schiphol by the main entrance, walk to the taxi stand and ask for a TCA taxi and ask specifically for the fixed rate.
