| Florence | Florence in July Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 02:31 PM UTC
Hi, I am thinking of going to stay with a friend around July 10th in Florence for a week, leaving from Toronto any suggestions for cheap flights? Sofar the norm seems around $1300-$1500 plus. Has anybody come across anything cheaper?
Thanks! |

How about one of the cheap flights into the UK e.g. zoom airlines or canadian affair. Then a budget airline to Pisa.

It'll get pricier this year before it gets cheaper. Consider flying to some other continental destination on whatever sale you can get, then arrange a flight to Florence or a nearby city on one of Europe's low-fare regional airlines. It may be even cheaper if you go to Pisa or Bologna or Ancona or anywhere outside Florence, then take the train.
Your quoted prices are pretty high. I believe you can do a lot better if you widen your destination options and do further research. Always check the airline sites for deals; they don't necessarily show up on sites such as Kayak, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.

Check out flyglobespan.ca
GlobeSpan is a budget airline that lists one way prices from the US and Canada into Europe. . .and if you're flexible, you can get a great deal! Plus, they fly out of Hamilton, ON. Than, as was suggested earlier, find a budget carrier like RyanAir or GermanWings (or any number of others) and fly into Pisa or Florence. It can add legs to your trip, but is a great option if you're working with a budget. In June, I'm flying from JFK to Heathrow, then Stansted to Pisa before taking a train to Florence. It made the whole trip much cheaper. Best wishes!
